Your Third Tiger Meeting
Your third Tiger den meeting is special - it's a Go See It meeting.
You will have made arrangements to take your small group of Tigers and parents to
some location outside of your normal meeting place so that they can gain a better
understanding of the facility that you visit.
Here is a short list of some of the facilities that you can consider:
- Making my family special - county library, historical society, museum,
historical site
- Where I Live - police station, fire station, town hall, ambulance crew,
Shearon Harris Power Plant visitor center, a fast food restaurant
- Keeping Myself Healthy and Safe - amateur or professional sporting event
- How I Tell It - TV station, radio station, newspaper office
- Let's Go Outdoors - hike at a local state park, rails-to-trails hiking trail
(such as the American Tobacco Trail west of Apex), etc
Make sure that you've included the following in your planning (and make sure that all
Tiger Cub den members understand to include these items in planning for future Go See It
activities):
- Contact the business or group that you'll be visiting and make sure you have their
permission and support. If possible, ask them to provide a guide or escort to show you
around.
- Make sure you tell the Pack Committee Chair or the committee member that handles
Tour Permits about your trip in advance so that they can file a Tour Permit. Without the
Tour Permit you are not covered by BSA liability insurance. Never take a group outside of
your normal meeting place without a Tour Permit.
- After your trip, remember to thank the group that you visited. A thank you card signed by
all of the Tiger Cubs is often appreciated.
