I Wish Someone Had Told Me About
Arrow Points

Some Cub Scouts may complete the requirements for their Wolf or Bear rank badge in 3 or 4 months. (Most will earn their rank by the time of the Blue and Gold Banquet in February.) However, there is still a lot to learn and a lot of fun to be had by continuing to work on activities in their book.

To recognize and reward their continued efforts, BSA has defined Arrow Points as part of the blue Cub Scout uniform. A scout earns an Arrow Point for each 10 additional requirements completed. The first Arrow Point is gold; all subsequent Arrow Points are silver.

Arrow Point must be worn under the left shirt pocket (centered below the badge of the rank that the Scout was when he earned the Arrow Point). For example, a Scout who earns the Wolf rank and goes on to complete 34 additional requirements would wear a gold Arrow Point centered by itself under the Wolf badge and 2 silver Arrow Point next to each other just beneath (and centered under) the gold Arrow Point. (See diagrams).

A Scout may not earn Arrow Points prior to earning his rank badge.
